2. Manis Kitchen
If you're looking for an affordable takeaway, head over to Manis Kitchen, located just outside the Seoul Central Mosque! Finding Muslim-friendly versions of popular street snacks like tteokbokki, odeng (Korean fish pie) and kimbap can be tricky, but at this Muslim-owned stand, they're ready!
Reach for hot tteokbokki stewed in a sweet and spicy sauce, and if you're looking for something more filling, you can also order kimchi or fried rice with shrimp! ?

3. Busan Jib Restaurant
Located in the streets of Myeongdong, Busan Jib Restaurant serves delicious authentic Korean cuisine with halal-certified meat. Must-try dishes include Korean Spicy Chicken Stew and Ginseng Chicken. Here you can also make your own Bulgogi lettuce wraps!

4. Murree
Murree is actually one of the first restaurants to start serving halal Korean cuisine in Seoul since 2008! Although it is also known as an Indian restaurant, the Korean menu here is quite extensive. From staples like bulgogi and bibimbap, to dakdoritang (spicy chicken stew), dakgalbi (spicy pan-fried chicken), galbitang (beef rib soup), kimchi jjiggae and more, Murree has something for everyone!
The highlight was definitely the dakgalbi cheese - the cheese was very stretchy and the chicken dakgalbi was super tasty! Since halal dakgalbi is hard to find in Seoul, take the opportunity to try this! Dakgalbi is very spicy, but luckily the cheese balances the flavors. Since the portions are very large, we recommend sharing the dishes.

5. Yang buena barbacoa - Yeoksam
If you've been watching the locals enjoy grilled food for a long time and wish you could try halal grill in Korea as well, we know how you feel. Boy are we glad we were able to have an authentic Korean BBQ experience at Yang Good!
Choose unmarinated lamb to enjoy tender lamb in all its glory, or choose marinated lamb to enjoy succulent lamb braised in a sweet Korean sauce. If you still have room in your belly, Yang Good also has mutton soup, deonjang-jjigae 된장찌개 (fermented soybean paste soup), mulnaengmyeon물냉면 (cold noodles) and other Korean dishes. 6. Osegyehyang vegetarian restaurant
Known for its traditional atmosphere, Insadong is the center of traditional Korean restaurants. When you see a line of Hanok-style buildings, you know that these are some of the best Korean gourmet restaurants in town, places where even locals come to enjoy their delicious menu. Also, it's hard to find Muslim-free restaurants in Korea, so this is definitely a gem!
Osegyehyangliterally translates as "Five Worlds Aromas". This vegetarian restaurant is well known to the locals for its delicious vegetarian dishes! With a budget of 15,000 Won per person, you can have a good and hearty meal here.Osegyehyanguse vegetables and soy products instead of meat. The dishes are so well prepared that it is difficult to distinguish them from the original version! For example, Tang Su Yuk, a dish traditionally made with meat, is replaced with mushrooms. Give it a try if you're nearby!

Samgyetang is considered useful for restoring health energy, making it the perfect boost to make sure you're ready for the rest of your journey. As Halal Kitchen now only serves samgyetang and bulgogi, we recommend arriving early so your chosen dish won't be sold out first. 9. Water
Like Osegyehyang, Maji is a restaurant specializing in Korean-style vegetarian temple food. Located in a traditional house in the Seochon district near Gyeongbokgung, the restaurant feels like going back to an earlier version of the city. What makes Maji special is that everything is made with organic ingredients, with little or no oil. They also don't use garlic or onions in their cooking.
We had the set menu for dinner which included a selection of dishes such as japchae, pancakes, shiitake mushrooms, side dishes, lotus leaf rice and much more. One of the highlights of our meal was the gujeolpan (colored plate inside) - this dish was only eaten by the nobility and contains 9 ingredients such as carrot, pumpkin, radish, mushroom, beetroot, bell pepper and more.
PS This may seem like a simple dish, but it actually takes 4 hours, so you have tobook in advance(by calling orVia Facebook) if you want to try it.

11. Homemade Tunisian couscous
This Mediterranean home cooking is run by a Korean woman who lived in Tunisia for three years! After realizing how difficult it is for Muslims in Korea to find halal food, he opened a restaurant to help the Muslim community find good food. With experience and heart, Cous Cous offers delicious homemade halal dishes that every Muslim will love.

If you are a seafood lover, you MUST visit Noryangjin Fish Market for the freshest Korean style seafood! Crabs, lobsters, abalones, scallops, shrimp, the rarest species of shellfish and more. If you can name it, they have it! When you arrive at the market, head straight to the first floor to pick out your seafood and don't forget to bargain! Sellers are often willing to lower their prices if you buy more items from them.
Once you've made your choice, it's time to head to the second floor to prepare it in the restaurant. You will have the option of steaming, grilling or raw. Please note that if you want to grill or steam seafood, there will be a preparation fee. Restaurants are not halal certified, so ask for food to be cooked simply with no added alcohol or broth.
